It means the dealer approves the loan on your income and how long you have held your job, and skips or discounts the credit score. A typical requirement is six months at the same employer or in the same line of work, take-home pay of about $1,500 a month or more, and a monthly payment kept under a fifth of that. The dealer is the lender, so the phrase is only ever used by in-house financing lots.

It is a fair deal when the alternative is no car at all, and an expensive one compared with a credit union loan.
