I had a great experience working with Tez when buying my car. From the beginning, he was honest, helpful, and really took the time to make sure I understood everything. Just bought a new Pathfinder. Alan Drewes was awesome to work with, very personable and extremely knowledgeable on the vehicles he sells. We've been using the service department for years for our Murano and service has always been excellent. I definitely recommend both if looking to purchase or service a Nissan.

Horrible service department. After a week to fix a transmission seal it went out less than a year later in the middle of no where. Despite being under warranty they would only fix it if we got it to another dealership. The local mechanic was willing to fix at 1/2 the price Nissan charged us less than a year earlier. Headache headache headache.

I wouldn’t recommend Gateway for purchasing a car, or for repairs. My experience with purchasing a car was fraught with communication challenges after I discovered I almost immediately after purchasing needed a new transmission. Update to roughly 9 months from then, and I decided to have my car serviced there for an off sound I was hearing, and the whole thing felt disingenuous (aside from a mechanic calling me late into it). Before even looking at the car they were offering me “recommendations” in the $100s of dollars, which I turned down, and then I dropped it off — diagnosis alone is roughly $200. I left the shop, and after an hour or so I didn’t receive any direct info, instead I received a link to a page that had a whole menu of things I could select to be fixed (it looked like a takeout menu), and everything ranged from $300-$1000+, without anyone first explaining what the issue was. When someone called to see if I’d seen it and what I’d like to get done, I said I didn’t trust what they were sending me, and I’d be going somewhere else for a look. The woman on the phone basically just said ok and you can pick up your car. As stated previously, a mechanic did call after this, and I explained my hesitations and he was more helpful than anyone else had been, but I still just felt like I was being scammed. I ended up going to a small car mechanic place, and the fellow was immensely helpful, and also called BS on some of the recs of Gateway Nissan. Anyway, I feel like I fully learned my lesson to not go there, and lost money to make it more apparent. Update: the service director at Gateway did follow up with me, and acknowledged the opportunity to do better, and refunded me the service charge.
