DISHONEST DURING A MAJOR LIFE PURCHASE. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!! I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with 40k miles on it, advertised as zero issues from the dealer. Less than two weeks after buying it the engine started knocking and I now have to buy a new engine out of my own pocket. I reached out to the dealer and tried to work with him about the knocking that had started and they told me it was “a normal sounding engine” and a “taco tick” when it clearly wasn’t. The knocking was not present during the test drive and he had the vehicle already started, I believe the issue was temporarily hidden for sale. I’m active duty military and regret buying from them as they hid the issue and lied about its condition. I was quoted $18k from Toyota dealership for the required engine replacement. I was taken advantage of because I needed a vehicle to move to my Duty Station in the Navy. The dealer was willing to give me $500 as a ‘courtesy’ to try to fix it, however this isn’t even a fraction of the cost of an engine replacement. There are many of dealerships in the Toledo area, please do yourself a favor and take your business anywhere else. This purchase has been the biggest regret of my adult life and has set me back financially during military training.
