What do customers say about John & Sons Auto Sales?

John was very accommodating, and pleasant. Prices are fair. I see alot of reviews stating this dealership sold them a bad vehicle. John repeatedly made it clear the the vehicles are As-is. He offered an after market warranty if you felt inclined. I simply recommend to make sure of what you're buying, these are older vehicles and inherently have problems, dont expect the world. Bring someone knowledgeable with you if you dont know about cars, but the dealership was not trying to be underhanded.

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership that was sold "as-is," on March 3rd, 2026. But shortly after driving it, I discovered multiple serious safety and mechanical issues. Within a few days, the car began having transmission problems, oil leaks, bad brakes, and failing mounts. A certified mechanic confirmed these were significant issues that likely existed before the sale, and deemed the car unsafe to drive. I understand that "as-is" means no warranty, but safety-related defects, especially something as critical as brakes, should have been disclosed. I have three children who rely on me for transportation, and finding out my vehicle may not be safe to drive was extremely concerning. I also used my tax refund to purchase this car, so this has been a major financial setback on top of the safety concerns. When I contacted the dealership, I was simply told that the car was bought "as-is" and that their was no warranty, with no willingness to address the issues. That response was very disappointing, given the seriousness of the situation. I strongly recommend that anyone considering buying from here get a full independent inspection before purchasing. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable buying from this dealership again. UPDATE: Ed, the owner, contacted me a few weeks after my review, and said he would buy the car back from me. He cut me a check for a bit over half what the vehicle was work. I appreciated the fact that he was willing to work with me, despite it being an "as is" sale. Thanks Ed!

I had a really uncomfortable experience at this dealership. I was sitting in my car waiting for a friend who was inside purchasing a vehicle when a man came out and aggressively told me to get off the property. I calmly explained that I was there for someone actively buying a car, but he continued to wave me away and speak rudely. What made it worse was that when I later went inside, I realized this same person was the salesperson working with my friend, and his attitude completely flipped. The inconsistency and lack of basic respect were frustrating and unprofessional. I understand wanting to monitor your lot, but there’s a way to treat people with courtesy. This experience left a bad impression, and I would hesitate to return or recommend this dealership. Added after response from owner: I understand the importance of safety on your lot, and I did move. However, this should have been respectfully communicated. However, my concern was not about being asked to move, it was how it was handled. I did explain that I was waiting for a friend who was inside purchasing a vehicle, and despite that, I was repeatedly waved off and spoken to in a way that felt dismissive and rude. What stood out most was the change in tone when I came inside and realized the same individual was assisting my friend. That shift made the earlier interaction feel even more uncomfortable. I’m always open to reasonable requests, especially when it comes to safety. I simply expect to be treated with the same level of respect that customers inside the dealership receive.

First time I went I took a car for a test drive and it sounded like it was dying going over 30 miles an hour, salesman said it was in perfect condition. Two years later I come back and they tried to sell me a Hybrid Honda with a dying battery for 6k. (Which they did not disclose to me, I had to have a third party mechanic look it over) No one should ever buy here, even when desperate The other low reviews paint similar stories everywhere, I'm just lucky enough to have not spent thousands on one of their cars Edit: turns out they also used truck bed liner to cover up holes in the body. This shop is a blatant scam

I decided to trust this dealership because of the good reviews I’ve read, unfortunately I’ve had nothing close to a good experience with them. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to anyone. Just purchased a 2013 Lincoln on 5/08/2026 and as of 5/16/2026 it’s sitting in my driveway broke down not being able to be driven (car starts up fine but won’t move when the gas is pushed down). Between purchasing this car and new tires (needed to be replaced due to dry rot) I’m around 8k in the hole this has tanked my family’s savings. I understand the vehicle was “as is” but no one should be sold a vehicle expecting to have it break down less than 8 days after purchasing. I’ve had better cars bought from private sellers that lasted years with no major problems. I reached out to see if they would offer any help/solutions and all I was told was “sorry to hear about that” this dealership is ridiculous and my experience was uncalled for. I thought I was purchasing a trustworthy vehicle for my growing family as I’m soon going to be having our third kid and this vehicle is anything but that.
