Love this place. Just bought my second car from here 2 days ago. They make thinks so easy. Love that they let you upload everything online so you don’t need to bring a million things to the dealership. Sage was very quick explaining things and make it super easy and quick. We were there for maybe an hour and a half.

My wife and I recently purchased a car from CarMax Portland, ME. The sales representative Alena was fantastic to work with!! Communication was spot on from start to finish as we had a car shipped from another State. She was attentive and professional throughout the entire process and all of our questions were answered promptly! CHEERS ALENA !!!! We will be back !! Ed

Had a great experience with CarMax! I wanted to sell my truck as we were downsizing to one vehicle. So I started comparing online offers along with the overall process involved to deliver the truck and get paid. I chose CarMax because the offer was great and the after offer acceptance process appeared to be very straight forward. Once I accepted the CarMax offer I was able to complete the paperwork process completely online in less than 1-2 hours (including the CarMax acceptance). I scheduled a pickup at our home and everything went according to plan. The truck was in great shape and the driver completed an inspection and we signed the required paperwork. The CarMax driver handed me the check, the deal was wrapped up! I have to say that I am a 110% satisfied CarMax customer and will not hesitate to relate my experience to others!

Car arrived in a very timely manner from California. Perfectly described online. Two very minor issues which the local Carmax in South Portland quickly resolved. Easiest auto purchase ever.

My husband and I purchased a car from here last week. Overall, it was a good experience but definitely had some areas of improvement. The buying process was slow and our salesman took a break right in the middle of our buying process so that slowed things down even more. But the salesman was very nice and I appreciated him not pushing sales. They only allow 2 tests drives per day which I think is a ridiculous rule, especially for people like us who traveled 1.5 hrs one way to go check out their cars. Most of their cars are dirty on the inside and have odd smells, one the cars we test drove had an awful smell and had stuff smeared all over the inside. I asked if they were going to clean the car we purchased before we left with it and they said yes but that didn’t happen. Thankfully, it wasn’t super dirty like the other one we test drove but did have some stains and hair on the back seats and some dirt on the doors. A few days after purchasing the car we did need to have the battery replaced, which carmax did cover the expense of and was good to work with in that aspect. They partner with VIP so we could just bring it to a local VIP instead of all the way back to Portland. The car runs great otherwise. Overall, I think I would recommend them but there are definitely areas that need improvement.
