Everything about CarMax from start to finish was wonderful. We put a hold on a car which was easy to do. It was shipped to the Waterbury, CT location. Our salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly and the process was so very easy. The car was so clean and sparkly. This was the first time I bought a car through CarMax, but I can assure you, it won't be the last. 10 Stars !!

Stewart Johnson, helped to place me in my dream vehicle. Almost didnt happen. But Mr Johnson Stewart was professional, proficient, timely, respectful, and kept me calm through the process. If you need a vehicle, and it is crunch time Stewart is the Sales Associate you want. Thank you so much Stewart it was a pleasure working with you!!!

I do have to say it was a pleasant experience buying our car here. No pressure from sales and the whole process was easy. We ended up having some issues with the car and contacted customer service. They were great. They helped us out even though we did not purchase the warranty. The repairs were done better than we expected and at a lower cost than we figured. Thanks so much to the team at Waterbury carmax for going above and beyond our expectations

The staff was great and very helpful. My saleswoman was great, the car was cleaned and ready to go for my test drive when I arrived both days. The actual sale took 45 minutes and was easy, quick and painless. I wish they took just a few more minutes to explain the test drive process. Also just make sure you do your research for your car as carmax is huge and they don’t specialize in any cars. Overall it was great and I would gladly use them again

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the test drive experience was good. However, I put a vehicle on hold while I contacted my bank and insurance company for financing and insurance quotes. By the time I checked back, the price had increased by $2,000. I’m not sure if the sticker price on the car was never updated or if the price was actually raised after my visit, but either way it was frustrating. What makes this even more frustrating is that the car is already a year old with nearly 8,000 miles, yet it’s priced essentially the same as a brand-new 2026 model. I understand market-based pricing, but this pricing makes little sense from a buyer’s perspective. The employees were great to work with, but CarMax’s pricing strategy needs serious improvement. At the current price, I would rather buy new or let the vehicle sit until it’s sent to auction.
