Found Stargate while searching the web for used vehicles, and after a lot of searching and comparing on Carfax, I found that all of the vehicles I was interested in were at their lot. I'd never bought from a dealership before- before I'd just paid cash for vehicles from friends- so I was nervous and on guard and not sure what to expect. But, I went with a specific vehicle in mind after a fair amount of research of what I was looking for, and Isaac gave us time to look the vehicle over and check it all out from stem to stern. Not once did I feel pressured or that things were moving too fast or that I didn't have space to ask questions, and I'm grateful to have had my friend with me, who was familiar with vehicle sales, to explain the different stages of the process. I got financed through a credit union I'd worked with before, and I drove my new vehicle off the lot less than a day later. I always prefer to support a local business, and this business treated me well and seems to keep quality vehicles in stock. I'm pleased with my purchase so far and the process was only mildly nerve-wracking- but I attribute that to it being my first time buying from a dealer. I would buy from them again. p.s. I was specifically looking for a Not Huge vehicle that was historically reliable, wasn't overdone with fancy bells and whistles, but also had the capacity to fit my big spinning wheel. I'm happy to say it fits my big, 4ft diameter wheel.
Bought this 2016 Civic and I have to say it was my most enjoyable encounter with buying a car. Friendly. Relaxing environment. They had a mechanic that actually cared. Car runs great!
Fantastic customer service, fair priced and extremely trustworthy! Best auto sales team we have worked with. Every team member has been very nice and great to talk to. Answered every question and concern we had. Will definitely only be buying from them when it comes time to buy vehicles for our future teens!
I bought a 2017 Honda Odyssey, and while the buying process was pleasant, no-pressure, and no haggle, I've unfortunately had issues with the vehicle. I test drove the vehicle on May 8th, and the battery was dead when I was looking it over. I understand that that happens when vehicles sit and are not being driven regularly, so I didn't think much of it. The vehicle drove well, had a clean Carfax that showed it was up to date on all regular and major maintenance for the make/model. I ended up putting down a deposit that day. I went back on May 15th to sign papers and pick up the car. Before walking out the door I was told "get the oil changed, we only do that if the car really needs it." The car drove home wonderfully, but after sitting in the driveway for less than 2 hours, I got in it and the check engine light was on, as well as the "FCW," and "LDW," lights. I immediately called, and was told by the owner that it was likely because the battery needed charged, and to continue driving it. After driving it to several appointments, I took it to a local Honda dealership for an oil change, as that is where I plan to have the car serviced in the future. A representative there advised me to call Stargate again about the dash lights, as they might require diagnostics to fix. They had also told me that all the fluids would need changed soon. The power steering fluid was very dark, the coolant was discolored, and there was algae beginning to grow in the brake fluid. I called Stargate again to voice my concerns about already needing to run diagnostics on a vehicle I had owned for less than 24 hours. My call was transferred to the owner, who immediately berated me for taking it to a Honda dealership. He told me that their mechanic was out of town until after Memorial Day, but afterwards I could bring the van up and have them look at it. Honestly, I only agreed to it because I didn't feel like arguing and wanted to get off the phone. Truthfully, I never took my vehicle back for their mechanic to look at for two main reasons. Firstly, I live 40 minutes away from Stargate, and do not travel to Murfreesboro often. I work a full time job, and do not have a second vehicle. It would have required me to take time off work to let them see the vehicle and frankly, I can't do that. The second reason is because of the way the owner spoke to me on the phone. On May 22nd, I took my car back to my local Honda dealership and had the fluids changed, which ran me $750. The car still has a recurring check engine light, as well as random flickering dash lights, and an occasional alarm going off when the vehicle is off, and the key is not in it. I will likely have run and pay for diagnostics to get this fixed. I bought this car upgrading from a 2005 Navigator that I had put nearly $4,000 into this year in repairs hoping to be done with car problems. While I'm hopeful that whatever is going on won't be too hard to fix, I am annoyed that I am dealing with this with a new to me vehicle. If my rating were based solely on my buying experience prior to signing the papers and taking possession of the vehicle, this would be a 4.5-5 star review. Events following the sale is what caused the 3 star rating.
Drove 6 hours round trip to get a car my son wanted. Wouldn’t take trade in. Wouldn’t budge on price for a 15 year old car that internet called a fair price. Not good. Not excellent. Made us wait. My son had a 740 credit score and was willing to put $1,000 down since they wouldn’t take a trade in! Said he needed a co signer. My husband co signed. He has an 800 credit score. He said he wasn’t getting a great offer because banks were closed. Had us wait again while he discussed what to do with his manager. After much time, the manager apparently did nothing because he came back with an 18% interest rate. My son without co signing has been offered 8% yesterday at another car lot. Terribly unprofessional and just a complete waste of our whole day. Don’t know how they have a 4.2 rating as a car lot. We dealt with Isaac. Don’t put yourself through this grief!
