Matt and John were extremely easy to work with. My story is a little long, but it’s worth the read if you’re on the fence about buying a vehicle from Summit Automotive Group. I was searching for a very specific vehicle: a V10 Ford Excursion that was rust-free, in good shape, and worth traveling up to 1,000 miles for. On New Year’s Day, January 1, I came across one that looked promising. I messaged John on Facebook and asked for specific photos since I was about 500 miles away. John went out, got the photos for me, and after seeing them, I hit the road and drove through the night to get there. I slept a couple of hours in Rapid City and met Matt at the dealership the next day. The vehicle checked out, and when we noticed the battery was weak, Matt didn’t hesitate to have a brand-new one installed. We arranged payment and made the trip back home across the state. Not long after, the Excursion developed an issue and needed engine repair. I won’t go into all the specifics, but there’s no way Summit could have known about the problem. The important thing I want people reading this review to know is that Matt made it right, even though we were across the state. He didn’t have to. The vehicle was sold as-is, where-is. That’s exactly why reviews matter so much for small businesses like Summit Automotive Group. When they treat customers fairly, they earn positive reviews, repeat buyers, and peace of mind for people like me who had no prior experience with them. Top-notch facilities, clean dealership, nice vehicles, and excellent customer service. Thank you, Summit. Thank you, Matt and John. I would not hesitate to do business with them again. Terrible.place..... ATTENTION alert ⚠️ 📢 say they will cover costs and to repay not informing buyer the real scenario on the vehicle. " janky" and hidden serious problems.. at least they could have been desent but fooled yet another loyal customer. Thanks summit

Sold me a car that was "inspected", less than 3000 miles down the road and car needs a head gasket and a transfer case. There was metal in the oil but somehow the inspection missed this ? Beware buying a used car from these guys, bring a mechanic. Don't trust summits "Inspections" A reply to Summits Reply. Within 3,000 miles we started experiencing all of the symptoms that ended up being a bad head gasket/transfer case. It was actually less than 3000 miles. Loosing coolant. All dash service lights coming on. We thought it was something simple so when I had time/money we began replacing the things like the battery, wheel sensors because we were definitely not thinking it would be something major. Ended up being something major. It makes me wonder if Summit put some head gasket sealer in the coolant to get us down the road for awhile while knowing it had a problem. Wouldn't be the first time a dealership has done this. And when a transfer case is bad, a typical oil change service will not show that. Two totally different fluid systems. Nice try though. You guys sold us a lemon, and im here to warn others to get a second opinion on buying a used vehicle from Summit.

Warning, do not buy a vehicle from summit auto. I purchased a van with 3,000 miles on it and was told it was in like new condition. When summit delivered the van, it was missing a seat, had extensive hail damage, and had been backed into something and the roof and back up camera were heavily damaged. When I called them to see what happened they told me it was not there problem and I had to deal with it on my own. We are now being forced to file a lawsuit against them.
