NOT A FAKE REVIEW: We bought a 2017 VW Jetta for my niece from Limerock Motors. WE PAID IN FULL! When the car was “ready” to be picked up, I got a call from my niece saying that Dan thought it acceptable to tape the taillight into place after already asking him to fix it at the time of sale. It wasn't until she handed him the phone to talk to me, that he said that it was only “temporary” until they could get the new housing. But that would mean the car wasn't "ready". A day after that, all the lights appeared on the dashboard. We decided to have the car looked over at Speedcraft VW. That is where they discovered that the car would need a speed sensor to the tune of $667, and the horn didn’t work. We went ahead with VW dealership to fix the speed sensor knowing that Dan, who tried to pass off taping a taillight housing as a proper repair, probably shouldn’t be trusted to fix a speed-sensor. So, we decided to pay VW to fix the sensor, and to inform Dan about the faulty horn. When she took the car to Dan again to pick up the plates, she asked him if it were at all possible for him to at-least cover the cost of the parts for the sensor. He said “You should have never taken it there, and I could have got that part for $40”, and told her he was not going to pay anything as she should have gone to him. He did fix the taillight properly a week later. Keep in mind also; this has taken hours worth of driving back and forth to Attleboro. Now it’s time to address the horn; Speedcraft VW quoted $240.00 to repair that. Dan wrote a check to my niece to pay for the repairs for the horn at VW. When VW went to repair the horn, they discovered that the steering wheel assembly was faulty and the repair would run about $540. When she called Matt and Dan to relay the message BEFORE PERFORMING THE WORK, Matt went irate, he then handed the phone to Dan, who continued to scream and yell at her, blaming & scolding her for ever walking into the VW dealership. She tried to explain to him and Matt that she did not move forward with having the steering wheel module replaced, that she wanted to inform him to make a decision on whether or not to do the work himself or if he wanted VW to complete the work. After continuing to yell at her; she handed the phone to the VW Service Advisor and he screamed at her too. The VW Adv again explained to him that they did not perform the work that was quoted and that my niece was free to bring the car over to him to have this rectified. My niece called me in tears because she was afraid to go back to Limerock to get this repaired in fear of being yelled at and wanted to pay the $540 to have it replaced because she was so scared to face Dan and Matt again. But why should she be out another $540? So, we arranged with Dan to fix it but I am furious that they yelled at her. We got a DMV notice that her registration was to be suspended if her car was not inspected by 7/6. Dan agreed to have the horn fixed on Friday 7/3. She was on her way down when Dan called back on her way and said that it was going to take too long, and that he would have it fixed Monday 7/6 to get it inspected. My niece brought the car down, they replaced the module and when she got the text that it was fixed, he asked for the $240 back that he gave to her to have the repair completed at VW AND that he was NOT going to take it to have the inspection sticker put on the car, after it was already paid for at the time of sale. He told her that she could go and get the inspection, and that she could take the $55 out of his money that she owed him, on the day of the deadline before the registration was to be suspended. No respect of her money or time she has already invested. The tech said that he would not release the keys unless she paid him $185 as that was the return of his money minus the $55 inspection. Nobody should ever raise their voice to a customer, especially a young lady. All could have been avoided if the car was gone through properly before hand. However, He did repair what was asked of him.
I regret buying a car from Limerock Motors more than anything. This has been an absolute nightmare from the start, and I feel completely misled about the condition of the vehicle. Shortly after purchasing it, I’ve already had to deal with a ridiculous number of serious problems. I’ve needed spark plugs replaced, fuel injectors replaced on cylinder 3 and cylinder 5, and even the catalytic converter. These are not small, normal wear items you expect right after buying a vehicle — these are major issues that should have been addressed or disclosed. On top of that, the transmission is now showing clear signs of problems, with rough shifting and unreliable performance. And now, the car is overheating, which could mean a coolant leak, a damaged hose, or potentially something even worse internally. It feels like the vehicle is falling apart piece by piece. No one buys a car from a dealership expecting to immediately deal with this level of failure. It raises serious questions about how thoroughly this vehicle was inspected — if it was properly inspected at all. I’ve spent thousands of dollars, dealt with constant stress, and been left with a car I can’t trust. I would strongly warn anyone considering buying from this dealership to think twice. My experience has been nothing but costly, frustrating, and deeply disappointing. bought it as is at 153,000 miles for $5,000+ and have already put over 3,000 of work and maintenance into it, and probably needs even more thousands
