I just purchased my second vehicle from Ed Donato. Ed is an excellent salesman, who always “goes the extra mile”, figuratively and literally. I made the choice to purchase from a dealership 4 hours away from my home, because Ed is a man of his word. I highly recommend Ed Donato and the Bob Johnso Auto Group.
I was excited to pick up my 2025 Kia Telluride, but the delivery experience was incredibly disappointing. The interior had clearly not been detailed before pickup — there were crumbs in the cup holders, stains on the floor mats, sticky spots on the seats and arm rests, and other obvious signs that the vehicle hadn’t been properly cleaned or prepared. For a nearly-new vehicle, especially at this price point, I expected much better attention to detail and professionalism. I will say that our salesperson was great to work with, but the condition of the vehicle when we picked it up really took away from what should have been an exciting experience.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this dealership was so consistently frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. The problems started almost immediately. The windshield on my brand-new Alfa Romeo Tonale was visibly warped, making it difficult to drive. It took seven months to get it replaced. During that process, I was initially told it wasn’t covered because I had purchased a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, even though I had actually purchased the car new. It took many calls and emails with the dealer and corporate to correct something that should have been straightforward. A few weeks after finally getting the windshield replaced, the battery died. I was told that in cold weather, the hybrid system could drain the 12-volt battery if the vehicle wasn’t plugged in regularly, so I followed those instructions all winter. Then summer arrived. The car sat for about a week, the battery died again, it had to be towed, and the check engine light came on after it was jumped. This time I was told it was a “known issue” with the Alfa Romeo Tonale and that the vehicle should be plugged in every single day, regardless of the season. Despite acknowledging it as a known issue, the dealership refused to cover the repair under warranty because I had previously been instructed to plug it in. The problem is that I had only ever been told this was necessary during cold weather. They eventually covered it, but documented on my repair paperwork that if the battery died again, I would be responsible for the cost (even though the vehicle was still under warranty at only 9k miles). That was the final straw. I picked up the car and immediately traded it in. I was seriously considering purchasing a Lexus, but I refused to do business with this dealership again. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Throughout the process, I frequently dealt with rude or condescending interactions, and simple callbacks often took days. At no point did I feel like anyone was taking ownership of the problems or advocating for me as a customer. I spent a significant amount of money on a vehicle that was unreliable, difficult to get repaired, and ultimately unusable for long stretches of the year and a half I owned it. I understand that cars can have defects. What I cannot accept is the way those defects were handled. I cannot recommend this dealership based on my experience.
Called about specific car. Asked were the car is located, was told location and made a appointment to look at the car. Got a phone call after driving almost all the way there saying car not available. Thanks for wasting my time and money on gas. I ask on 1st call if the car is for sure at that location. Typical scum car salespeople.
I took my 2020 Avalon into Bob Johnson in Henrietta for repair on Wednesday, they diagnosed the problem that day. They also told me I needed front and rear brakes, cabin and engine filter I said no I would pass on them. Just fix the original problem. Since then the servi
