I've been buying cars from Main Street Motors since 2020, & they've been wonderful. I bought 3 already (1st in 2020, 2nd in 2023, & the 3rd on in 2025), & non of them broke down! Their service is remarkable! I recommend John & Kathy.
I recommend this dealership. The buying experience was smooth and the salesman wasn't pushy. He got me into the vehicle that was a perfect for me and my girls.
Do not buy a car from them they do not actually go through them to make sure they are safe vehicles. My wife if stranded in NY now because they did not go through and fix issues with the car that should have been fixed. Not honest dealership. Bought a car from them and the check engine light came on the same day not long after signing the paperwork. Code said it need a new catalytic converter which they would not fix because this part of NM doesn't do emissions testing. Come to find out later thay it is also burning oil and fouling plugs. It has a factory defect that was only covered for up to 8 years after original purchase. I would say take any car you want to buy there to a good mechanic and have them do a very thorough inspection. I do not recommend them and would not purchase there again. Unlike a number of reviews on them I am completely up to date on payments. Only positive I can say is salesman wasn't pushy. I fully intend on making a complaint with the MVD Dealer Licensing Bureau. Update i have finally had time to work on rebuilding the engine and i have torn it down to the cylinders and it needs a new short block per honda specifications. The depth of the scoring on the cylinder walls clearly shows that it has been going bad long before the 3 months we were able to drive it. Now I have proof but as I have not been able to get in touch with the owner i am going to make the educated guess that they do not care if they sell someone a lemon as long as it is at least 15 days after they have sold the vehicle before they find out. I will be reaching out again to see if the owner will make it right before taking further action but im not holding my breath. Do not buy from main street motors.
I had a very concerning experience involving Main Street Motors. Representatives came onto my property looking to repossess a vehicle that doesn't belong to me. This happened in an area where I already have safety concerns, and the situation was frightening. When I told them they had scared me and explained that this is not a safe neighborhood, one of the individuals displayed a firearm. Whether intentional or not, it made me feel unsafe, where I have young children in my home. I understand that repossession is part of the business, but professionalism and respect for the safety of others are important. this experience left me shaken and concerned about how this situation was handled. Due to the seriousness of what occurred i am documenting this incident and considering all available legal options. No one should made to feel threatened or unsafe during a repossession attempt, especially when the vehicle in question does not belong to them. After this experience, I took the time to read other similar reviews of professionalism and customer treatment. Based on what I personally experienced, i would strongly encourage others to proceed with caution when dealing with this company. Then you proceed to lie and blame it on another company when we knew it was you. And again I say this wasn't my vehicle but this was my property. You guys are so highly unprofessional I wouldn't buy a car from you for five freaking bucks
My sister already left a review about her experience, but I feel the need to address the response from Main Street Motors. In their reply, they claimed they were sorry that the repossession company they hired made my sister feel unsafe. However, my sister has security camera footage, and the person seen on those cameras was not an employee of a repossession company—it was the owner of Main Street Motors. What makes this even more concerning is that the vehicle being repossessed was not my sister’s vehicle. During the incident, a firearm was displayed, which made an already stressful situation feel threatening and unsafe. Instead of taking accountability, Main Street Motors chose to deny what happened and shift the blame to a third party. If you’re willing to flash a gun at someone and then publicly misrepresent the situation afterward, that says a lot about how you conduct business. People can make their own decisions, but based on what was captured on camera, I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before doing business with this company. FYI, too no one’s mad about being repossessed only thing anybody is mad about here is the owner banishing a weapon at a small female with children in her house even after she told him she knew nothing about the car and she didn’t care if they took it that she was just scared of their presence on her private property and then you guys coming on here and lying in your response to her review about it actually being a third-party repossession company when it was completely not, and it was the owner, John himself and his son.
