WOW! That’s all I have to say, honestly. Came in looking for certain vehicles to see. They weren’t available— still decided to look at other cars & left SO HAPPY! Rob, was the person that helped us and he was amazing. He was professional, kind, eager to help, and empathetic to understand ALL of our needs. He made it super easy and NO stress at all. Thank you Rob!!! Definitely will be coming back here to purchase another vehicle in the future & will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends. I'll be honest: CarMax was fine. Not great, not terrible. Just fine. We went in to order an SUV being transferred from another state, and by the time we made it from that first conversation to signing final paperwork and taking delivery, we had gone through 4 different people. Every handoff meant re-explaining where we were in the process. It's not a dealbreaker, but it made the experience feel more fragmented than it should have been. The no-haggle model also creates an interesting dynamic. Yes, it takes the pressure off. But it also means the salespeople have little reason to make your experience exceptional. You're just another transaction moving through the pipeline, and that feeling was hard to shake. So why 4 stars? Because when I compared CarMax's pricing to our local dealership, CarMax came out ahead. No negotiating required. That's legitimately impressive and probably the strongest argument for their model. Would I go back? Maybe. The price was right. Just come in with realistic expectations on the service side. PS- CarMax does not have a Doc Pre fee and offer a 30 day warranty for an added peace of mind.

Exactly what I wanted, no haggling with a salesman, didn’t feel like I was screwed because I had already agreed to price Carmax had on the car. Since I purchased the vehicle, I do wish that Carmax would have reimbursed me a little on the shipping cost. Would have gotten 5 stars.

We made an appointment and still had to wait over an hour to meet with someone. That’s why it’s not a 5-star review. However, once we were with a staff member, it was an extremely smooth process. The staff are very friendly. We test drove a vehicle, but decided just to sell our current vehicle to CarMax, and wait to purchase another. There was no pressure, they offered us a very fair price for our car, and the process went as well as we could have hoped.

Purchased a 2016 Toyota Avalon, once I received the car there was not only a decent amount of damage that was undisclosed in the listing but issues that forced me to pull over on a highway on the way home. They fixed some of the issues after the fact, and also refunded my shipping but that doesn't make up for all the extra time and stress. The car obviously was not properly inspected on MULTIPLE occasions. There were scratches disclosed in the listing that I can't even see, meanwhile parts of the car are held on with zip ties and entire handles of the car are still masked from it's last repair. The entire process was mediocre and unprofessional I would not recommend buying from CarMax in the future.
