I purchased a BMW X2 from Driveline Motors on March 7, 2026 after finding it on CarGurus. The listing did not disclose any issues with the vehicle. Before driving an hour to the dealership, I requested a video of the car and was only told the tires needed air.During my visit, I was informed for the first time that one of the headlights had a problem. I was told it was a minor cosmetic issue and an easy fix, so I proceeded with the purchase. After signing the paperwork, I was instructed to schedule a service appointment to have the issue repaired. At the service appointment, I was told a part had to be ordered and that it would take weeks to arrive. After waiting, I returned for another appointment expecting the repair to be completed. Instead, I was told the part was incorrect and another one needed to be ordered. After this visit, I discovered that the dealership's mechanics had not properly reassembled my vehicle. The wheel arch beneath the headlight was not secured correctly and became damaged while driving. Other components were also left improperly assembled. I immediately reported the issues and provided photos. Communication throughout this process was extremely frustrating. The owner never contacted me directly despite the ongoing problems. Updates were consistently delivered through employees, and obtaining information often required repeated follow-up. Eventually, I took the vehicle to a BMW-certified repair facility. Their inspection revealed that prior repair work had been performed incorrectly and needed to be redone. The shop determined that the entire headlight assembly required replacement. As a result, I spent approximately $1,200 for diagnostics and corrective work and another $1,998 for the headlight replacement. I also learned that additional repairs are needed. My concerns are that the headlight issue was not disclosed in the original listing, multiple repair attempts failed, repair work caused additional problems, and I incurred thousands of dollars in expenses after the purchase. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend having any vehicle from this dealership inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing.If posted, please take my original video down.
