I normally don’t leave reviews, but as a well-known local cleaning business owner who relies on a safe, reliable vehicle to support my five children and my clients, I feel obligated to warn others. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder (red, leather seats, sunroof) from City Car motors on November 21st, and the very next day (Nov 22nd) the vehicle began having serious issues. The RPMs fluctuated up and down, the car shook forward and backward, and it even started producing white smoke, all of which I documented in multiple videos. I immediately contacted the dealership and brought the vehicle to the mechanic they insisted on using—someone who works at Bradenton Auto Sales but is not a certified mechanic. He told me “nothing was wrong,” even though the issues were obvious and had already been confirmed by my own certified mechanic. Despite me asking for the vehicle to be inspected somewhere reputable, they forced it back to the same uncertified mechanic. After finally getting the vehicle returned to me, the problems continued exactly as before. My mechanic diagnosed clear signs consistent with a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder, which lines up with everything you find when you look up the symptoms: white smoke, vibration, shaking, and fluctuating RPMs. When I asked for a swap for a different, reliable vehicle—because I run a business and NEED dependable transportation—they told me yes, but only if I paid more money down, even though the original vehicle was defective on day one. Then they informed me they were only returning $400 of my deposit, claiming they “had to pay their mechanic,” even though it is illegal to withhold a deposit when the vehicle was sold with problems from the start. The car had issues before I ever left the lot, and they swore it was “fixed,” only for it to break down again that night and the next morning. This dealership sold me a vehicle with pre-existing mechanical failure, refused to let it be properly inspected, and kept most of my deposit instead of doing the right thing. This experience has cost me time, business, and unnecessary stress. I am sharing this so others do not go through the same. I recommend extreme caution when dealing with this dealership. Horrible customer service Nobody speak English the staff does not communicate with each other about customers and payments. They Repo my son’s car after. two weeks being late on his payment, he spoke to the people in the office and they said it was not gonna be a problem that they would give him a whole month to make it up and within a few days the car was gone he had to pay them over $100 more than his payment was and then had to pay the tow company $400 So a $300 payment turned into 900 Mind you it was towed on a Sunday and he had already spoke to one of the people in the office and told him he was gonna be in on Monday and they told him that was fine I would never suggest getting a car from here.
