Had a great experience with Ernie's Auto of Waterbury! Found a car online that checked off all the boxes, went in, and couldn't have been more pleased. We were pleasantly greeted and allowed to demo the vehicle with absolutely no sales pressure. We agreed on a reasonable price and asked for a couple of things to be done to the vehicle. The folks at Ernie's did everything we agreed upon and then some. They honestly went above and beyond for me. They even registered the vehicle right there at the dealership and we drove away with brand new plates the same day. Talk about a stress free auto purchase! I would highly recommend Ernie's Auto, you're going to meet some down to Earth family oriented people.

The best family owned used car dealership in Connecticut, especially for shrewd buyers with a taste for quality classics & cash in hand. After a long quest for an excellent chariot, at the end of 2025, I drove off their lot in a nearly pristine 2001 Buick Park Avenue with only 93,000 miles on the odometer for a final price of $3,750 cash, which also covered a bunch of requested work done prior to final sale, plus other costs, fully registered & plated by them. This total price was $2,000 less than market value, the best deal available, and the car has proven reliable & outstanding. Fran & Frank sell good cars cheap, and stand behind them. If you're looking to buy a reliable used vehicle with cash, look no further. Mention this review for a free tire rotation (which means that they'll just drive your car one yard forward & one meter back in order to cause rotation of the wheels, or tell you to do it yourself if they're really busy).

Bought a 2003 Buick LeSabre from these guys about 4–5 months ago, and the experience was great. The older gentleman and the rest of the staff were very nice to deal with, they handed us the keys to check out the cars no pressure, no salesman BS. The car itself has been doing very well. It was a clean, low mile car that was well priced, and even still were able to negotiate down a little. Since then, it has been doing great just some minor electrical things, which is to be expected for a 23 year old GM product. If you do your homework and choose the right car, you’ll be satisfied spending your money here.

I called to make sure a car was available before driving over because I do not live close by. The owner told me it was available and encouraged me to come look at it. I told him where I live and asked him questions about the car and he said everything was good and encouraged me to come look at it. I told him I would be there in a couple hours or so. I then drove there only to find that when I arrived they were selling the car to someone else. I do not trust these guys anymore.
