Malco Motors made the entire car buying experience smooth and stress-free. They helped both me and my brother get vehicles the same day and truly worked with us every step of the way. The finance manager, Jim, was excellent professional, transparent, and made the numbers make sense. Matt, the sales manager, was just as impressive and made sure everything moved quickly and smoothly. Have dealt with Malco for many years- knew the owners for many years from church and they are good folks! Bought a Honda Civic and have had it a few yrs now and haven’t had any issues- had a little hail damage on the roof when I bought (that was disclosed) but no one has ever even noticed it unless I point it out. ;) And I’ve referred several friends to them over the years, and they have yet to disappoint. I also like that they have service after the sale and cheap lube and oil changes after you buy to make sure your vehicle stays in good shape…

This happened in January of 2018, I can't remember the name of the guy we were talking to, but he demonstrated AMAZING customer service at first... but when our credit check came back, and it was less than perfect, his whole demeanor changed. We asked if we could just do a large down payment and still be able to be financed, and he snickered at us and made a snort noise and said "I don't think that with the jobs you guys have, that you could afford to give us the down payment we would need." And then he proceeded to type around on his computer, make phone calls, get up and leave the room, etc and never once made eye contact with us while we sat there trying to talk to him until we gave up and were leaving.. at which point the smiles and handshakes and obviously fake sympathy were plentiful. My husband and I could not believe the response we received. Lost a sale that day. We had several thousand in cash that we had been saving to be able to get a car, plus someone with outstanding credit on standby to cosign for us if need be. We ended up going to Lease to Own Affordable cars after we left, I told them about the customer service (or lack thereof) that we received from that guy in particular (I'm sure the rest of the employees would have found a much more professional and NICER way to politely decline the sale), and we left that day with a beautiful Nissan Murano that we only have to pay the remaining balance from a previous repossession on, didn't have to spend all the money we had saved on the down payment, and we get free oil changes and regular maintenance on our car for free for the life of our 3 year lease. I drive past Malco every day and I just feel disgusted by the way we were treated. Because I read some of the reviews and it seems like the business is very reputable, and great to their customers for the most part. I hope for the sake of your company that the gentleman is either no longer employed, or has had a drastic change in his work ethic since then. My husband and I went there in the first place because we had heard very good things about the business, so we were excited and hopeful when we walked in the door, only to leave empty handed and feeling shamed for the professions we have.
