Buyer beware: always get a pre-purchase inspection. Before placing a deposit on a vehicle, I asked multiple times whether there were any known issues. Each time, I was told there were none. An independent pre-purchase inspection told a very different story. The inspection uncovered several significant concerns, including a missing muffler, a missing lug nut, and mismatched tire sizes. According to the inspecting mechanic, the tire size mismatch could affect systems such as ABS and traction control. These were not cosmetic issues—they were issues that directly impacted the vehicle's safety and roadworthiness. What is most concerning is that I specifically asked about the vehicle's condition before moving forward. I even questioned whether it had an aftermarket exhaust because it was noticeably loud. Only after the inspection did I learn that the muffler was missing. When I raised the issue, I was told that a missing muffler was not considered something that needed to be disclosed because it was "not mechanical." There were also discrepancies between the vehicle and the online listing. Features advertised in the listing, including a backup camera, were not actually present on the vehicle. I would strongly encourage buyers to verify all listed options and equipment themselves. To their credit, the manager eventually refunded my $500 deposit. However, that happened only after the inspection revealed the issues and I challenged them on what had been disclosed. While I appreciate that the deposit was returned, it does not change the fact that the vehicle had significant issues that were not disclosed when I specifically asked about known problems. I also paid approximately $300 for the independent inspection, and after all of this, the dealership asked me to provide them with the inspection report that I had paid for myself. In the end, the inspection likely saved me from purchasing a vehicle with serious safety concerns. That's the main reason I'm sharing this experience. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, spend the money on an independent pre-purchase inspection. It may be the best money you spend during the entire buying process.
