Automaxx went above and beyond when my wife and I purchased a car for our son. They took extra time to prep the vehicle correctly and even provided a loaner while finishing a minor repair. We felt well cared for from start to finish and would gladly recommend them.

I wanted to leave a fair review because my experience started out great. Kevin and the staff were helpful, professional, and made the buying process easy. However, after a repair went bad, everything changed. I pointed out a rock chip in the windshield before purchase and was told it would be taken care of. When the dealership attempted to repair it, the windshield cracked and required full replacement. From that point on, instead of standing behind their word, the owner chose to deflect responsibility. He was completely fine throwing his employee under the bus and hanging me out to dry at the same time. Rather than handling it as a basic customer service issue, I was left to deal with the cost myself for a problem that was identified upfront and worsened while the vehicle was in their possession. Kevin tried to help, but it was clear he was put in a difficult position by ownership. This could have been resolved easily and professionally. Instead, it became an example of how this business operates when something doesn’t go perfectly.

Bought this VW CC from these shysters they were initially asking $2500. I noticed there were a few electronic issues along with the trunk not opening as intended. Rear view mirror was being held up with packaging tape. So I was able to talk the young kid salesman to $2200. Thought I was getting a steal of a deal. Wrongo! Forr starters they failed to have the previous owners sign off the title correctly. I had to drive from the dmv in Taylorsville down to Orem to have them fix. Nice pleasant lady working there who was apologetic for the troubles. Moving on, after doing some research on what was causing the horn not working, airbag warning light on dashboard, I found out there was a recall for the clock spring mechanism inside the steering wheel. I called Strong Volkswagen in SLC, and was told the car still qualified for free replacement. So upon further inspection the rep broke the bad news to me. That there was a cracked seal inside the engine which was causing motor oil to flow into the radiator, and radiator fluid to flow into the engine. Potentially causing catastrophic irreparable damage to the engine! The costs quoted for parts and labor coincidentally happened to be the same $2200.00 that I paid for the lemon. Now being new to the state of Utah, I figured this state and its major population of the LDS religion that there could not possibly be unethical, immoral people out here. Was I wrong for thinking that. Live and learn I guess I’m just taking it in the rear. Bought the car with cash, was never informed about anything of the likes. Dealership, unless they were blind, careless, dumb, or a combination of any of the above, damn well should have been aware of this judging by the black colored antifreeze fluid. I just thought it was dirty and needed a radiator flush. Grant it I was informed I was buying the car as is. But it’s the dishonesty, that’s really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Just like a lemon. Words of advice to any potential auto seekers out there, “buyer beware.” Do your homework before buying any used car, from any worm used car dealership.
