We purchased a brand-new 2023 Jeep Gladiator and have experienced the dreaded "death wobble" multiple times. The vehicle has been back to the service department repeatedly, yet the problem remains unresolved. On the first visit, the dealership upgraded the tie rods. On the second visit, they replaced or upgraded the stabilizer components. On the third visit, we were told that upgrading the tires would solve the issue. Based on that recommendation, we spent approximately $2,000 on new tires, only to continue experiencing the same dangerous problem. The most recent incident occurred about a week ago while traveling on the interstate at approximately 62 mph. After hitting a small bump in the road, the death wobble was worse than it has ever been. The steering shook violently, forcing me to activate my hazard lights and pull over to a complete stop—not once, but twice. What makes this even more concerning is that I was towing a 23-foot camper trailer at the time. This is not an inconvenience; it is a serious safety issue that puts my family and other drivers at risk. I am extremely disappointed that after multiple service visits, significant out-of-pocket expenses, and repeated reports of the same problem, there still appears to be no real solution. What is even more frustrating is hearing comments such as "it's a Jeep thing" instead of having the issue treated with the seriousness it deserves. A violent steering failure at highway speeds should never be dismissed or normalized. I expected better support and accountability from the service department. At this point, I have lost confidence in their ability or willingness to properly diagnose and repair this vehicle.
