The Baker Collection - Charleston

I am very happy with my experience buying a car online at Baker Motor Company in South Carolina. It was my third attempt and after this specific car I was looking for was sold in my area, I said "What the hey, let me just see if I can get one across the country and if the shipping is reasonable"., because I really wanted THIS car. I was worried because it was so far away and I couldn't test drive it. As soon as I called, I knew it would be a good experience because the sales person Olivier had a positive tone, and guess what, the shipping was reasonable for the distance, He also answered all my questions and sent me pics and video of the car. The car was very fairly priced, and they were able to get me a warranty even though the car is considered older. The finance manager Tyler was also on the ball about paperwork and even when there was a small issue with the title, it was quickly resolved. I also noticed that Baker Motor Company has several unique car models at their dealership. The whole buying experience was easy and smooth for online buying. I was also worried a bit about the shipping , you never know if a semi truck with ten cars will show up with a sketchy driver, although he was a little late, there were only three or four on the truck and the semi and driver was neat and clean. Now I have my dream car and it's all black! The details are amazing and it's so smooth and fast! It was also well taken care of by the previous owner. Truly a wonderful buying and driving experience.

Very happy Bailey was able to take the time to go over the myriad of features in my AMG SL55. He was patient and clear on navigating the menus MB provides. Very helpful.

Well, Baker has been around long enough for most folks around here to know it's a great place to buy a car. I've never had a bad experience, not even close. I need to drop a review here though to highlight a fellow named Jeff Shoebotham. In my experience he's a guy you can trust. He's very knowledgable, he's not into gimmicks, he'll shoot you straight, and he's not satisfied until you are. Ask for him by name when you need a new vehicle.

This dealership is a complete scam. Before visiting, I exchanged multiple emails with their staff to confirm that the vehicles I was interested in were available at this location and ready for a test drive. When I arrived, none of the three cars I came to see were available. I was misled and wasted my time making the trip. Instead of showing me the vehicles I had specifically inquired about, they tried to push cars that were more than $5,000 over my budget. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic and shows a complete lack of respect for customers. Avoid this dealership if you respect your time. UPDATE: the vehicle that they refused to show me is still up on their website (not as you told me), you also lied and said that it takes 24h to delete a vehicle. I am surprised that all of the sudden I see the exact same Range Rover with a now lower price, maybe to get people into the door?… also all 3 cars weren’t available not only one. Stop lying to your customers, I expect an apology for continuously lying and trying to lure customers in with cars that aren’t available. Shame on you
