I cannot recommend Payless Car Sales based on my experience. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on May 11, 2026. After driving it approximately 50 miles, the engine failed and locked up. Fortunately, the repair was covered under Hyundai's engine warranty, but the experience was still extremely frustrating. The bigger issue was the dealership's handling of the title and registration. South Carolina dealerships are generally required to submit title and registration paperwork within the required timeframe, but I later learned at the DMV that my paperwork was not submitted until July 6, 2026—more than 60 days after I purchased the vehicle. During that time, I contacted the dealership multiple times and was repeatedly told that everything was "processing." It wasn't until I visited the DMV myself that I discovered the paperwork had not been submitted. We were given the runaround on three separate occasions, and the issue was only addressed after we informed the dealership that we were prepared to pursue legal action. Based on my experience, I found the communication to be misleading and the handling of the sale to be unprofessional. I encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here to do their research and carefully monitor the status of their title and registration paperwork.
