HUGE THANKS to John at Car Connect for working with us to get us into a beautiful new ride! The process was simple and easygoing. Our time and situation seemed valued here and we’re very happy with the deal we got. We definitely recommend getting your next car here!
John was excellent to work with. He let me know what I was able to finance beforehand and did not pressure me at all. He let me pick the car that I liked, offered me options for an extended warranty, walked me through the whole process, and was very thorough with the paperwork process detailing everything in my loan. He put brand new brakes and tires on my car and filled the gas tank for me. He was transparent about everything. I will definitely buy a car from him in the future. I am very happy with my purchase.
Between 2023 and 2024 I purchased three cars from Car Connect Reno. A Mazda six, that leaked puddles and puddles of oil, it even made a sound so loud that it shot out about 25 feet of oil behind it, John refunded me my deposit for that one. The next week got a Hyundai, my husband, and I cosigned this one. Battery, starter, and alternator all needed to be replaced within seven months of purchasing the car. and after fixing it a week later, it broke down in the middle of a snowstorm. The engine was totally fried. It got towed by the highway patrol so we had to let our finance company know, and we had to surrender it to them and let them know that we couldn't pay for it to get it out of the tow yard because they quoted us about $900 to get it out. So because of that car, we have a repossession on our credit which we are currently paying off it's $10,000. And then recently three months ago, I purchased a Hyundai Azera from John because he's the only one that can work with the repossession in town. Issues from the get-go, sometimes the car and sometimes it wouldn't. And on the days that the car would start, I had to pump the gas about three or four times to even start the car. Tpms sensor light came on After a few days of purchasing the vehicle, John told me it wasn't really a big deal. Well, recently, the car wouldn't start. So we got a starter put in mechanic who put it in tested the battery. The cell was bad so I was told I had to go to O'Reillys in lemon Valley when I live off of Vista to get the battery charged now I had to go to Valley because that's where John buys his parts so that's where the parts are warranted. and about 3 miles from the store my car starts making a loud pop pop pop sound and that's when the car started smoking and antifreeze shot out the front under the hood and out of the underneath of the car ( see attached photo) My car is currently sitting on North Virginia. Maybe it's been towed maybe it hasn't. I don't know. John did come and try to look at the car. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and why it wouldn't start I stayed with the car and Highway Patrol. It took them six hours. I asked John if he could help with the tow. And he said he didn't know anybody. The car been there since last night so tonight I texted John and asked him if I could get a refund on my Down payment, He said no. I also asked if he could give me a different vehicle. He said no and I let him know that if those things can't happen, then I'm going to have to look at other avenues. He advised me to let lawyer know and contact him. Don't get me wrong with the first Hyundai we had John did pay for the parts, but a week after the first round of cars were put in the car my husband and myself did have to pay for it. It was over $1000 if something goes wrong with the car that he will to solve the problem for you. but as of right now, I'm sitting with a repossession on my name and I'm sure once my car gets towed. I'm going to have another repossession and then I'll probably be forced to file for bankruptcy. I am just so happy that my two year old and my three year old weren't in the car when my car broke down. I think these vehicles are very safe and they shouldn't be sold for a quick buck. And I know online he doesn't have a lot of bad reviews that could be because when you purchase a car from John, he tells you if you write a good review he'll fill up your tank. That doesn't seem like good business practices to me all the cars are bought at auction and he just tries to fix them up quickly. If I could give lower than a one star, I would.
This man scammed me, sold me a lemon of a car with a check engine light that he just cleared before selling to me when I was extremely pregnant. He claimed his mechanic would fix it for me the mechanic took my car all day long and then when I came to get it at the end of the day he said fixing it wasn’t worth his time. Then when I inquired to swap out this $12k car that hardly runs he ghosted me and stopped responding.
