Tesla Honolulu Ala Moana

I had a fantastic experience at the Tesla showroom in Ala Moana. Even though I couldn't drive the Cybertruck myself due to licensing restrictions with my Polish driver's license, the sales associate, Russel Wilson, went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Instead of simply turning us away, he kindly invited us for a test ride as passengers. Russel's professionalism, positive attitude, and customer-first approach are truly commendable. If you are visiting this location, I highly recommend asking for him. Thank you, Russel, for the great experience!

Everything was clean, modern, and the whole process felt smooth and effortless. They took the time to answer all my questions without any pressure, making the visit both informative and enjoyable. So i should start off by saying that this review more reflects the Tesla buying process then this location. This location has an amazing staff and the only complaint is they need better signage at there pick up locations. A small door with the Tesla logo that says deliveries at the back side / service side of a mall is easily confusable. Ok now the not so nice portion. The Tesla trade in and purchase process seems easy and was in some relative fashion however it twice screwed me over. First was on my trade in it gave me one amount and then stated during the review it found physical damage in a photo ( that was not identified which or where) so they reduced the trade in amount by $1400. There is no explanation and no way to contest this at the pick up location as they have zero authority. At this point I decided and selected a 2026 Demo model and the description Tesla's website vehicle has been processed and no damage out side of minimal wear. I get there and the car has curbing on 3 out of the 4 rims. I ask the consultant about this and they go to the manager and was told that anything less then 4 inches of curbing on a wheel is not considered damage nor will it be repaired but they can recommended someone for me to pay out of pocket to fix a car i haven't taken possession of yet. When I asked about the vehicle description saying no damage i was told they dent count curbing and they have no authority to make any adjustments or offers without a lengthy process through corporate. SO be prepared for Tesla to screw you over on your vehicle while they take zero responsibility for their descriptions of vehicles because of subjectiveness. Outside the wheels the car itself was fine with no other damage or issues. The vehicle operated as it should and the representative that helped me take possession and learn about it was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Would i recommend this location and product yes. Would I also say I feel Tesla was shady and deceitful on this transaction yes. Not a great first buying experience with Tesla though they are lucky their employees saved face for them.

Unsafe Vehicles and Horrible Customer Service at Tesla Ala Moana We test drove both a Tesla Model X and Cybertruck at the Ala Moana location and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any dealership. • The Model X was given to us with a broken 2nd-row seat and seatbelt, which my daughter noticed immediately but I did think it could be broken because it’s new vehicle and over 100k. Later, Tesla accused us of causing the damage — completely false. And never responded when we said our daughter noted it was loose and quoted, “it was broken before I didn’t break it” • While driving, the Model X ran a red light, raising serious safety concerns with Tesla’s Autopilot/FSD systems. Also made many bad turns and we had to take over multiple times • Even worse, the powered side door and the rear trunk closed on my husband’s head, causing injury. The sensors failed to stop or reverse — an extremely dangerous malfunction. • The Cybertruck made loud grinding noises when switching gears and sounded awful trying to parallel park. The front end felt out of alignment, yet they knowingly let us test it. The sales rep even test drove it himself before handing it to us, which makes it clear they already knew there were problems. • There was no walk-through of the Cybertruck when we dropped it off. If there had been, I would have had no problem correcting the sand inside. I was instead turned around with the gps and auto driving taking me to the wrong side of the mall and being late! But I would have had no problem cleaning it up if I would have saw as my husband was the one getting the car seats out and switching them over. • The Model X was simply handed to us “outside and ready” — no safety explanation, no inspection, no feedback process or drive before. Instead of addressing these safety issues, the store banned us from future demos and accused us of damage, while ignoring their own failure to follow proper procedures. This is no way to treat any customer, let alone a family with children and a disabled veteran. The lack of accountability and the prejudice shown by employees at Tesla Ala Moana was shocking. If you are considering Tesla in Honolulu, be very careful. The vehicles were unsafe, and the customer service was disrespectful and dismissive. We have filed formal complaints with Tesla Corporate and NHTSA. The Waikiki strip Tesla location employee Enrique made me feel. Made the vehicles look inviting to families where this location warned me not to invest while I have little ones! If a family can break such a high dollar item I be warning all to watch out and hopefully lucid comes to Hawai’i. This location the snobby, rushed no care to check on us was the most degrading and after refusing future test drives wild! I never needed to test drive the vehicles I wanted to because ya girl has always loved Tesla and my kids love Fortnite and the cyber truck and I wanted to show them a great experience instead we all got traumatized and they had to see their dad get hurt twice and the stress of the failure of bad employees who truly don’t care if they make a sale or not or do walk through or check in or even follow up to problems the customer had!
