I must say I have a dislike for car dealerships especially being a woman. But when I contacted Platinum Auto Care about a VW Beetle. From the moment I spoke to AJ I felt like this was the place I was going to purchase my daughter’s dream car. I had spoke to a lot of dealerships while looking for a VW beetle, but none of them left me feeling confident in buying from them. AJ was very educated on VW cars and as a VW owner already he showed me how knowledgeable he was on the make. When I tell you the beetle was in pristine condition! From the outside to the inside. I did a carfax and a bumper check. There were no warnings that came up on the vin. I took a almost 3 hour drive to see this car. Ray was our salesman. When we arrived the car was blocked by other cars and he moved it out of its spot and put dealer plates on it and handed me the keys. He told me test drive it and take my time. So me and my daughter took it for a spin. I drive like the New Yorker I am and not one light came up on the dashboard. Not one issue arose! At that moment I knew we stumbled across a gem. Ray was very kind and worked with us. I paid for the car outright. AJ is the kindness and most professional person I’ve encountered in a long time while purchasing a car. He made sure everything was squared away and we were happy! If you are looking for a great car check them out! Remember used cars aren’t perfect but they definitely are meticulous about the cars they sale. My daughter will always remember Ray & AJ because they made her dream of owning a VW Beetle (A rare one too) a reality!! I’ll be back soon for another car! Don’t hesitate if you are thinking about buying a car from them. This dealership is great if you are a woman purchasing a car for yourself too! They are respectful! I purchased a 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel from Platinum Auto in Waterbury and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. Within a week of purchasing the vehicle, I discovered several significant issues after having it inspected by a reputable dealer. These included a major leak from the rear differential vent hose, leaking oil pans, leaking front struts, and severely rusted tailgate bushings that made the tailgate inoperable. After speaking with Gino and the owner, I was assured that the issues would be taken care of. To their credit, the differential leak and oil pan leaks were repaired. However, after waiting nearly two weeks for their mechanic to address the remaining problems, I was informed that I would be responsible for paying for the front struts, labor, and tailgate repairs myself. What was most frustrating was being told that I should have discovered these issues before purchasing the vehicle. As a customer, I relied on the dealership to properly inspect and prepare the vehicle for sale. A leaking suspension system and an inoperable tailgate are not issues I would expect to find shortly after purchasing a vehicle from a dealer. Now, I am dealing with yet another oil leak near the manifold and have completely lost confidence in the vehicle. Based on my experience, I do not feel that the vehicle was thoroughly inspected before being sold, and I do not feel adequately supported after the sale. If you are shopping for a used vehicle, I would strongly recommend having any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing. Unfortunately, my experience with Platinum Auto has left me feeling stuck with a vehicle that has had multiple major issues almost immediately after purchase.
